For those who plan to follow the rules of nutrition during Lent

The Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine informs

How to properly enter Great Lent

If you have never fasted, it is important to correctly "enter" the fast. This means that already on the eve of fasting, you should try to exclude heavy food and adjust your body to restrictions.

It is important not to bring your body to the point of exhaustion or illness. A fasting diet should ensure that the body receives nutrients necessary for the vital activity of the body.

There are several fasting rules that must be followed in order not to harm your health:

Eat small portions 6-7 times a day

Drink plenty of water.

Add mushrooms and legumes to the diet.

Don't ignore cereal.

As for products to avoid, information varies significantly.

It is mainly meat and meat products: smoked meats, ham, sausage products; eggs and products in which they are used; dairy products: kefir, milk, ryazhanka, yogurt, butter, cheeses, sour cream, as well as dishes in which they are used; fast food, chocolate, pastries;

alcohol;

Regarding fish and vegetable oil, there are different interpretations.

What products can be 100% eaten during fasting:

cereals and cereals on water without butter;

Vegetables and fruits;

black bread or loaves;

legumes, eggplant and zucchini, nuts and mushrooms;

cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, broccoli, asparagus;

all types of green salads;

lentils, chickpeas, peas, soybeans, beans, beans are the main sources of protein;

sunflower oil (on permitted days);

bakery and confectionery products, which do not contain dairy products and eggs;

honey.

People with chronic diseases, pregnant women and people in the period of acute diseases CANNOT fast.

Our defenders must be strong and energetic. We will fast and pray for them!

Fasting should be in the soul. The most important, in my opinion, is prayer.

Health should always be protected and strengthened!
