Hypertension: causes, risks and prevention

Up to 40% of patients with arterial hypertension do not suspect that they have the disease, because this disease often has an asymptomatic course, and the increase in pressure cannot be felt physically.

What is arterial hypertension? Popularly it is also called hypertension — it is a chronic disease in which the blood presses excessively on the walls of the arteries from the inside. Without proper treatment, a heart attack, stroke, heart failure, vision impairment and other complications can develop.

In the early stages of the disease, it can be manifested by headache, dizziness, pain in the heart area. Nosebleeds, a feeling of numbness in the left hand are also possible.

The most effective way to determine your blood pressure is to measure it regularly!

Blood pressure levels:

☛ optimal pressure, at which the upper pressure is no more than 120 mm Hg. Art., and diastolic - less than 80 mm Hg. art.;

☛ normal blood pressure is a pressure in the range of 120-129 mm Hg. Art. (systolic) and 80-84 mm Hg. Art. (diastolic);

☛ high normal pressure — systolic pressure is 130-139 mm Hg. Art., and diastolic — 85-89 mm Hg. Art.

Hypertension can be caused by factors such as gender, age, and genetic predisposition. Nevertheless, a significant part depends on the way of life.
