Incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in the population of Lviv region, for 41 weeks

According to the monitoring of the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in the population of Lviv region, for the 41st week of 2023 (October 9 - October 15, 2023), 10,719 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in Lviv region (427.6 per 100,000 population) against 9,135 cases (364.4 per 100,000 population) for the previous week – an increase in morbidity by 14.8%.

The intensive morbidity rate for 41 weeks is 1.5% lower than the epidemic threshold of 434.07. In the structure of morbidity, the specific weight of children under the age of 17 was 49.3% - 5282 persons.

An unfavorable epidemic situation is noted in the territory of the Przemyśl OTG, where the intensive rate is 57.7% higher than the epidemic threshold (the intensive rate per 100,000 population is 391.2 with an epidoporosis of 248.1).

In Horodotsk OTG, the intensive rate is 18.2% higher than the epidemic threshold (the intensive rate per 100,000 population is 913.9, while epidoporosis is 773.0).

In Lviv, the intensive rate is 8.4% higher than the epidemic threshold (the intensive rate per 100,000 population is 666.6, while epidoporosis is 615.2).

The virological laboratory of the State University "Lviv State Medical Center of the Ministry of Health" tested influenza material from patients by the PCR method, and no influenza viruses were detected.

1,971 people were vaccinated against influenza in the Lviv region.

During the 41st week, 516 people fell ill with COVID-19, including 33 children. 64 people were receiving inpatient treatment. 1 fatal case was registered.

According to the sequencing results, the OMICRON strain ХВВ 1.5., ХВВ 1.16, GE 1 is circulating in the Lviv region.


1,102,542 people were vaccinated against coronavirus with one dose, 1,038,701 people received the second dose, 202,497 people received the first booster, and 20,447 residents received the second booster.
