In the past 30 years, the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI), which began as a modest scientific exchange group on influenza, has grown rapidly.
It is now an organization in which stakeholders, coalition partners, clinicians, scientists and policymakers all work together to advance and implement diagnostics, treatment, antivirals and vaccinations against acute respiratory viruses.
4 days of intensive discussions among more than 1,000 participants from the scientific and political communities, international health authorities, the World Health Organization, the European Parliament and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Current topics related to influenza, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) were discussed.
