The project "Every school is a healthy school" continues!

The joint project of the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration "Every school is a healthy school" continues!

Specialists of the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention held an online meeting with schoolchildren about healthy habits for everyday life. The emphasis is on how the student can maintain vision and correct posture!

Here are simple things for every day from the specialists of the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Olga Brezetska, Deputy General Director of the Center, and Inna Uvarova, a general hygiene doctor.

Excessive and continuous use of gadgets is very harmful to eyesight.

Therefore, take breaks every 20 minutes and switch your vision from a close distance (for example, the phone) to a far distance (look out the window);

limit the duration of work at the computer;

alternate between reading e-books and print books.

To maintain your vision, eat foods rich in antioxidants, including foods rich in vitamins A, E, and C: blueberries, carrots, pumpkin, onions, and garlic.

Perform eye exercises at least 2-3 times a day after using electronic devices.

To prevent bad posture:

sit straight at your desk;

walk so that the back is straight;

eat well;

wear a backpack correctly;

walk in the fresh air and be physically active every day!

The project is implemented with the support of the WHO Bureau in Ukraine and Switzerland.

WHO recommends for children and adolescents aged 5-17 years:

1 hour/day of physical exercises;

3 times/week exercises for the development of skeletal and muscular tissues;

limit sitting time, especially if it is time for rest.
