Vaccination and prevention. Medical services from the mobile teams of the Center for Health and Welfare

During 2023, the team of the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention carried out 140 visits to 73 communities of the Lviv Region.

In total, last year, the Center's specialists provided preventive services to 12,755 residents of Lviv Oblast!

More than 10,000 people were tested for hepatitis B and C, HIV infection, and COVID-19.

10,137 people received consultations from family doctors, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, and psychologists.

Specialists of the Center, together with doctors from outpatient clinics, conducted 10,137 vaccinations during visits to communities:

6,037 children - from polio, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, rubella, and mumps.

4,100 adults - against COVID-19, diphtheria, tetanus. Half of them are people over 60 years old.

Disease Control and Prevention Centers (CDCs) work in each region. Their task is to carry out epidemic surveillance, to prevent the development of non-infectious and infectious diseases (in particular, thanks to vaccination).

During 2023, the mobile teams of the Center for Health and Welfare provided preventive services to 118,603 residents of 572 communities:

114,706 people were tested for hepatitis B and C, HIV infection, COVID-19, and screening for cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.

46 thousand – received consultations from family doctors;

26,000 received consultations from cardiologists, ophthalmologists, and psychologists.

In addition, specialists of the Center for the Prevention and Control of Diseases and Conditions carried out vaccination:

20,496 children - from polio, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, Hib infections.

22,790 adults - against COVID-19, influenza, diphtheria, tetanus, measles.

Mobile visits are conducted so that residents of remote communities have access to high-quality and free medical services. These are settlements with temporarily difficult access to comprehensive medical care, for example, in de-occupied territories or in places of emergency situations.

For example, in the summer of 2023, 97 mobile groups of the Central Committee of the People's Republic of China worked in the communities affected by the Russians' detonation of the Kakhovskaya HPP. They monitored the level of water and air pollution, soil, and worked with people.
