What about the flu?

According to the monitoring of the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in the population of Lviv region, in the 3rd week of 2024 (January 15-21, 2024), 13,979 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in Lviv region (568.3 per 100,000 population) against 13 079 cases (531.7 per 100,000 population) in the previous week – an increase in incidence by 6.4%. An increased level of morbidity is observed in the territory of Lviv and Stryi districts. In the Lviv district, the intensive incidence rate is 764.7, with epidoporosis 608.3. In the Stryi district, the intensive indicator is 462.5, while epidoporosis is 459.7. In the 3rd week, the intensive rate of SARS, including COVID-19 in the Lviv region is 30.9% higher than the epidemic threshold (531.7 vs. 434.07). In the structure of morbidity, the specific weight of children under the age of 17 was 40.9% - 5,725 people.

During the reporting week, the virological laboratory of the State University "Lviv State Medical Center of the Ministry of Health" determined the circulation of influenza A viruses.



Since the beginning of the epidemic season, 15,856 people have been vaccinated against influenza in the Lviv region, of which 8,298 are people from the medical and epidemic risk group.

208 people fell ill with acute respiratory coronavirus disease against 295 last week. 1 fatal case was registered among people over 60 years old. 23 patients were receiving inpatient treatment for coronavirus.

1,102,787 people were vaccinated against coronavirus with one dose, 1,039,575 people received the second dose, 211,795 people received the first booster, and 25,473 residents of Lviv Oblast received the second booster.
