How do you rate your mental health?

The ability to enjoy life is the main feature of a mentally healthy person.

World Mental Health Day is celebrated annually on October 10.

The term "mental health" is often translated as "mental health", although it has a somewhat broader meaning and includes both emotional and spiritual well-being, as well as social well-being.

WHO defines mental health as a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with life's stresses, realize their potential, learn and work adequately, and contribute to their community and socio-economic development.

To a large extent, a person's condition depends on a number of factors.

A combination of numerous individual, social, and environmental factors that affect a person throughout life can both enhance and negatively affect mental health.

According to estimates, the impact of conflict and war can increase the prevalence of mental disorders to 22%, which in the case of Ukraine means almost 10 million people.

Children are the most vulnerable in the context of mental health disorders. Especially, in conditions of war.

That is why today the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine held a "Mental Health Lesson", where some psychologists' advice was discussed: how to improve a child's mental health.

For example, using visualization techniques.

Offer a child who is worried about something:

Imagine yourself as a solid mountain.

Display your anxiety on the sheet in the form of a flowing river.

Draw repetitive shapes that stabilize us.

Build a protective fence from your own thoughts and feelings through the image in the coloring page.

Draw a fish on your palm.

Paint your and your mother's palms to create the feeling that "I'm not alone."

To cry in the form of rain, drawing its droplets - this is how you allow yourself to feel sadness.

The practices and techniques presented in the presentation will allow the Center's specialists to understand the intricacies of psychological factors themselves, and provide qualified advice to teachers and parents: how to help children's problems and improve their mental health.
