Drinking regime for children.

Drinking culture should be observed from early childhood.

Children should always have constant access to clean drinking water.

You should drink water whenever you feel thirsty, but children cannot always control the amount of water consumed, adults should take care of this.

The task of parents is to establish a child's drinking regime and explain why it is important to drink enough water, which drinks should be drunk.

WHAT WATER CAN YOU DRINK?

Water must be safe. That is, not to contain harmful chemical compounds and microorganisms, not to have a sharp smell and taste.

Therefore, children should know the rule: do not drink water from untested sources, streams or wells.

HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD YOU DRINK PER DAY?

The amount of water depends on the following factors: age, weight, climate, intensity of physical activity, temperature outside.

However, there are numbers that you can focus on:

At the age of 9-13, a child should drink about 1.5 liters per day (7-8 glasses)

Older than 14 years - about 2 liters (8-11 glasses).

IS IT POSSIBLE TO DRINK SWEET WATER INSTEAD OF PLAIN?

No. Although sweet water is also a liquid, it contains added sugar. Such drinks can cause caries if you drink them often.

Juice, fresh - is not a substitute for water. If the child really likes fresh fruit, one glass a day will be the best option.

HOW DO YOU NOT FORGET TO DRINK?

Make sure that the child always has drinking water with him.

Place a glass of water near the child's workplace.

And so that she does not forget to drink at school, buy her a reusable bottle: fill it with water every time the child leaves the house.

Teach your child to drink water gradually throughout the day, not all at once.
