In the previous (40th) week, 366 residents of Lviv Oblast fell ill with COVID-19.
The coronavirus circulates on the territory of the region, so it is worth taking care of protection.
Vaccines against COVID-19 are available, and they remain free of charge for every Ukrainian.
What is the future of vaccinations against COVID-19 and who should get an additional booster?
Updated recommendations for vaccination against COVID-19 for 2023-2024 have been approved.
The basis for protection against a severe course of COVID-19 is a course of three vaccinations. That is, two doses of primary vaccination and the first booster vaccination, which is administered after 5 months.
3 vaccinations = generally recommended vaccination course for everyone.
All subsequent vaccinations after the third are an additional booster (in some countries it is called a "seasonal booster"). The doctor recommends it to patients from the risk group of a severe course of COVID-19. Namely:
➡︎ to people over 60 years old;
➡︎ those who have serious concomitant diseases;
➡︎ to people who are at risk of severe course and death due to coronavirus disease.
Ukrainians who do NOT belong to the above-mentioned risk groups, but plan to receive an "additional booster", for example, for a trip to countries where there are requirements to have an additional vaccination, or those who have expressed a desire to receive an "additional booster" - can be vaccinated after consultation with by a family doctor in an outpatient clinic or at a vaccination center.
Ukraine currently has more than 5 million doses of the vaccine against COVID-19. Vaccinations remain free of charge for every Ukrainian.
Vaccination can be done at the appropriate points or at the outpatient clinic through an appointment with your family doctor. A vaccine against COVID-19 is also available in Ukraine for vaccinating children from the age of 5.
